The goal of the Furey Lab is to develop and apply computational strategies to analyze and interpret large-scale genetics and genomic data to understand molecular drivers of complex traits and disease, especially the inflammatory bowel diseases.
Our home is in the Genetics Department in the Genetic Medicine Building, and we are affiliated with the Biology Department, Center for Gastrointestinal Biology and Disease (CGIBD) and the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center.
We are always seeking motivated, hard-working trainees at all levels interested in computationally-based genomics research, including postdocs, graduate students, and undergraduate students (see Lab Opportunities for more information). Graduate students are generally part of the BCB PhD Program within the Biological and Biomedical Sciences Program (BBSP) at UNC.
